2) Как и в русском языке, между прилагательными, стоящими перед существительным, запятая не ставится, если они не являются однородными (между ними нельзя вставить союз and - и). Запятая также может не ставиться между однородными определениями, если они выражены короткими словами.a tall slim girl with long straight hair — высокая, стройная девушка с длинными, прямыми волосами
3) Запятая используется для выделения приложений.Cairo, the capital of Egypt, is the largest city in Africa — Каир, столица Египта, является самым большим городом в Африке
4) Запятая используется для выделения вводных слов, словосочетаний и предложений, хотя и не так последовательно, как в русском языкеUnfortunately, grey areas still remain in the law — К сожалению, в законе еще остаются темные места.

6) Запятой выделяется обращение. В отличие от русского языка, запятая (а не восклицательный знак) употребляется после обращения в письмах (в американском варианте английского языка после обращения в письме часто ставится двоеточие)John, give me that book — Джон, дай мне вон ту книгу

7) Запятая ставится перед подписью после заключительных формул в конце писем.Yours sincerely,

8) Запятая ставится при написании дат перед указанием года после месяца (это происходит не всегда, чаще в том случае, если дата входит в состав предложения) или после числаLeo Tolstoy was born on 9th September, 1828 — Лев Толстой родился 9 сентября 1828 года

9) В отличие от русского языка, в английском запятая не употребляется для отделения целой части от дробной в составе десятичных чисел (вместо нее употребляется точка). Запятая же может использоваться для выделения групп из трех цифр (тысяч, миллионов и т.д.) в числах, состоящих из большого количества цифр.3,335,145.076 — "три миллиона триста тридцать пять тысяч сто сорок пять целых семьдесят шесть тысячных"
